Mr. Sheng Chen, also known as Josh Sheng Chen, is our founder and has served as the executive chairperson of the board from the company's inception. He has also served as interim CEO since April 2024. Mr. Chen has been dedicating himself for nearly 30 years to the fields of Internet infrastructure and information technology of next generation. He is a leader in the industry technical architecture design and product innovation. He was awarded as one of the Top 10 Leaders in the "Integration of Industrialization and Informatization in China" by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Mr. Chen has currently served as the Co-Executive Director of the Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University (EIRI), managing director of the Internet Society of China (ISC), director of China Info100, the Vice Chairman of China Energy Internet Alliance (CEIA), and the Chairman of Zhongguancun CyberNext New Infrastructure Alliance. Mr. Chen received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1991.
Mr. Qiyu Wang has served as our chief financial officer since July 2023. He served as our vice president of finance since April 2022. Prior to joining us, Mr. Wang had over 20 years’ experience in the Chinese telecommunications industry, in charge of business operations, financial management and capital operations. From 2016 to 2021, Mr. Wang served as a vice president of China Telecom Global Limited, overseeing strategic business development and mergers and acquisitions. From 2010 to 2016, he served as the chief financial officer of China Communications Services International Limited. Prior to that, he served as the finance manager at the headquarters of China Telecommunications Corporation Limited. Mr. Wang received his EMBA from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Ms. Sharon Xiao Liu has served as our executive vice president since November 2025 and currently serves as the rotating president of VNET Group. Ms. Liu has over 20 years of experience in financial management, investment, financing, and corporate management. From 2010 to 2021, Ms. Liu held several executive roles at VNET Group, including the Group's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from 2018 to 2021 and President of the wholesale IDC business group from 2020 to 2021. During her tenure as CFO, Ms. Liu spearheaded the development of VNET’s five-year strategic plan, helped grow the company’s market capitalization to over US$5 billion, and successfully completed US$1.65 billion in financing. Subsequently, Ms. Liu served as CFO at a hyperscale data center company and a tech company specializing in large-scale AI models. Before her first tenure with VNET Group, Ms. Liu was an Audit Manager at KPMG Hua Zhen LLP from 2003 to 2010. Ms. Liu received dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and law from Peking University, and is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of North Dakota.
Mr. Ju Ma joined VNET in January 2021 and currently serves as executive vice president and general manager of the AIDC Strategic Business Group. Prior to joining VNET, Mr. Ju Ma served as the General Manager of Zhongshi Ruide from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, he held various positions including Deputy Chief Engineer at China National Radio, Director of the Academy of Broadcasting Science at the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT), Deputy Director of the Technology Department at SARFT, and Deputy Director of the Xinjiang Radio and Television Bureau. Mr. Ma holds a title of Professor-level Senior Engineer and a Master's degree from Tsinghua University.
Mr. Gavin Chenggang Shen joined VNET in January 2017 and currently serves as executive vice president and general manager of the IDC Strategic Business Group. Mr. Shen has nearly 20 years of business operations management experience in IT strategic planning, cloud computing, and data centers. Prior to joining us, Mr. Shen served as vice president of a large IDC service provider. In addition, he held senior management positions at several renowned multinational companies, including Samsung Electronics, HP Inc., and Electronic Data Systems Corporation. Mr. Shen also has extensive technical and management experience in the finance, manufacturing, energy, and aviation industries. Mr. Shen received his bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Sichuan University.
Mr. Kun Yan joined VNET in January 2021 and currently serves as executive vice president. He is responsible for building the data center business platform system and enhancing its capabilities, covering data center product research, design, engineering management, cost and supply chain, as well as operation and maintenance assurance. In this role, he leads the creation of market-competitive data center products. With over 20 years of experience in the data center industry, Mr. Yan has played a key role in advancing the data center business development for leading internet companies such as Tencent and Alibaba. He possesses extensive and comprehensive expertise in the full lifecycle management of data centers, including planning, R&D, design, construction, and operation. His deep understanding encompasses the IDC industry ecosystem, market dynamics, resource demand-supply models, cost structures, and operational mechanisms. Mr. Yan holds a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University.
Mr. Derek Li has served as our executive vice president and general counsel since November 2025. Mr. Li’s extensive experience includes positions with top-tier international law firms and judicial institutions, with expertise in areas including cross-border capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, investment and financing transactions, international strategic cooperation, listing compliance, and risk management. He previously practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in its New York and Hong Kong offices, where he played a key role in numerous major cross-border transactions for leading global TMT companies, with a cumulative transaction value over US$40 billion. Mr. Li received his Juris Doctor degree from the New York University School of Law. He is qualified to practice law in the states of New York and California and also holds the PRC Legal Professional Qualification Certificate.
Mr. Peter Zhihua Zhang joined VNET in October 2019 and currently serves as our senior vice president of operational finance. He is an experienced finance executive with broad leadership experience across global and China-based enterprises and deep expertise in corporate financial governance and operations across multiple industries. He joined VNET to oversee the Company’s accounting, taxation, and compliance functions. In addition, he has played a key role in establishing financial systems for several of the Company’s business units, effectively supporting the Company’s operational compliance and steady growth, and leads the Company’s domestic debt financing initiatives and strategic partnership with Microsoft. Prior to joining VNET, he served as Chief Financial Officer at a TMT enterprise and as finance director at Anta Group, as well as in key finance roles at Lenovo and TDK. Mr. Zhang is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA, USA) and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Jilin University and a Master of Business Administration from Renmin University of China.
Mr. Wen Teng joined VNET in May 2024 and currently serves as our senior vice president and chief executive officer of Blue Cloud. Prior to joining us, Mr. Teng was the president of Greater China at Veritas. From 2010 to 2021 he worked for Microsoft China, as vice president of Greater China and general manager of the public sector, leveraging over 30 years of technical expertise and deep understanding of both China and international markets to drive Microsoft’s business development among government, healthcare, education, and large state-owned enterprises. Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Teng worked for large information technology, software, and network infrastructure companies such as Sun Microsystem, Nortel Networks, Lucent, AT&T and SIEMENS. Mr. Teng received his master’s degree in telecommunications science from the University of Colorado.
Mr. Xiaomang Li joined VNET in July 2025 and currently serves as senior vice president of VNET Group and chief executive officer of DYXnet. Mr. Li is a seasoned technology industry leader with a global perspective and strong local execution capabilities, bringing over 30 years of executive experience in multinational technology corporations. Prior to joining VNET, Mr. Li served as Head of Strategic Business Development for AWS China, where he spearheaded partner ecosystem transformation and drove commercial growth, demonstrating rich experience in digital ecosystem development, cutting-edge technology commercialization, and organizational strategic transformation. Prior to AWS, Mr. Li held key leadership roles, including Business Development and Industry Market Director at Microsoft China, Senior Sales Director of VMware China and Client Director for the Financial Services Division at IBM. Mr. Li received his bachelor’s degree in image transmission and processing from Xidian University. He also completed executive leadership programs at McMaster University and Harvard University.
